Senior Director of Sound Community Services, Nichole Burns, shares the exciting news of the first annual run to raise awareness about mental health and also decrease the stigma of mental health in the community. The run, coming up on May 18th, will be a family-fun event with opportunities for drawing, art, music, and more. Taking a proactive approach to mental health is similar to physical health -- it's imperative to build up resilience and strength in times of need so that you have the resilience needed to handle the inevitable ups and downs of life.Burns is a former clinician who has transitioned into an administrative role within the organization and now helps to plan the best programs and services for the community. They work very closely with the State of Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services where they receive nearly all their funding.
